Pure graphic design
09 Jun 2010 When I was a student at ISIA Urbino, I had the chance to meet extraordinary people! People that right now are doing great things and above all they are great friends. ISIA was an environment of true creative involvement with a good preparation for what I consider the pure graphics design, like print, typography, photography, illustration, corporate identity, packaging and multimedia.
Among the many talents that have inspired me every single day in that amazing period of my life, I just get the chance to see the new web portfolio of my dear friend Alessia Travaglini, a great motion designer who can give a deep and intense mark into every single frame with a stunning visual quality.
So I wish to focus on one particular project that I really love: "Venti Sociali". A thesis project created by our mutual friend Lorenzo Anzini, from ISIA too, an excellent illustrator and graphic designer, who use his clean and simple stretch as if they were his voice. Unfortunately he doesn't have a website, but I'm already fighting with him and trying to make one.
Freely based on what has been called "Grafica di pubblica utilità " (a kind of Social Graphic Design) around the seventies in Italy. Venti Sociali is a social product of a series of posters designed to strike the people. You can tell strong thematic with a few symbols, combining the concepts to pull off others. This create in the viewer the effect of surprise, which ususally is never included, but that immediately settles in the soul and then become obvious.
These posters then are superbly animated by Alessia and the music and sound also are made by our ISIA friends Riccardo & Francesco Cardelli.
I'm really glad to see my friends work together and make one single amazing thing.
I recommend everyone to take a look at the video and the posters, don't miss them!
